Frequently Asked Questions

What are the general principles regarding the use of county vehicles?

County resources, including vehicles, are strictly for County business only. Any personal use of county time, supplies, or equipment is prohibited and can lead to disciplinary action, including dismissal. Employees are expected to use county property as authorized and in accordance with user agreements signed at the start of employment.

How can an employee access and use a county vehicle?

To access a vehicle you must use the AgileFleet Kiosk in Building 3. You can make reservations online by visiting the website https://johnstondss.agilefleet.com/ or by visiting the kiosk and making an impromptu reservation. We recommend making a reservation online when possible. Making an Impromptu reservation at the kiosk is highly dependent on vehicle availability, and you may not be guaranteed a vehicle at all.

What are an employee's responsibilities after using a county vehicle?

Please fill up the gas tank on the vehicle before returning it to the fleet parking lot. When you return back to Social Services, take a note of the ODOMETER reading, you will need to input this on the kiosk when returning the key. Please keep the vehicles as clean as possible and report any damage or maintenance issues as they arise.

What are the rules and responsibilities for drivers of county vehicles regarding traffic and safety?

Employees driving a county vehicle must follow all traffic laws and be proactive, safe drivers. They are personally responsible for any traffic violations committed, which may result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal. Texting or using a cell phone while driving a county vehicle is strictly prohibited.

Kimberly Brown is responsible for vehicle maintenance, and should be notified when issues arise. Her extension is 6424, and her office is in Building 1 on the 2nd floor. If you can not get a hold of anyone, please email [email protected].
